Germs!

We have had our fair share of them already this year.  I was out for the count most of last week with strep and the girls have all had some sort of virus over the past 2 weeks.  Em is home again with a fever, she came home yesterday with a temp over 104, and it just hanging on now around 101-102.    I am waiting until this weekend to see if my designers for the month bring forth any new products, if they do I will snap them up and share their talent!  Regardless I will have a few final layouts showing off Sarah's and Sara's talent next week so be sure to come back and peek at them.

In the meantime, I haven't gotten a lot of scrapping done the last couple of days, I did one layout yesterday for a Artisan Notebook challenge (Just Write) I have a goal to work on my journal writing for my layouts.  I have decided to take an Intro to Typography class that is being offered through the Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild (Stacey Jewell Stahl is teaching it.)  It is not until January but I am all set to register.  The use of text can be really powerful on a layout and I have been won over by the artistry of text and want to use it myself to it's fullest potential.  In the meantime I will keep plugging away and hope I get it right at least part of the time.

I am also trying to finish my kit organizing.  I finally backed up all my zip files for kits and other scrapbooking items but I can't bring myself to delete them off of my main EHD ( I need to do it it is A LOT of space that is being taken up)  I WILL do it -- soon. LOL I will leave you with my layout from last night.  Have a good one.

Waiting

While I sit here waiting for the phone to ring with return phone calls and watch my email for responses I am scrapping a little.  I decided to use Sarah Meyer's Calico Cutie this time, the colors were easier for me to work with and I like the way these turned out. TFL.

Lazy Sunday

Today was a lazy day here.  There was a friend of the girls over for the day and that kept them occupied for the most part - even if it was on the computer.  But since I didn't get to play on the computer myself for most of the day I decided to read a book.  It was smut but FUNNY!!!  Anyway, after supper I got to do a couple of layouts so I will post those on my way to bed.  I have work for a few days so I may not post until after that.

These layouts were made using Sarah Meyer's She's A Star kit.  Honestly, for having 3 daughters I really have a hard time doing "girly" layouts.  But, this kit has browns and blues in it which made it much easier for me to work with.  Thanks for looking!

Happy Saturday!

After going to Olive Garden for a birthday lunch I got to come home and play!  I did another layout using Sara Ellis' Bugsy Buggers which I love! This is our youngest playing on the monkey bars at the park.

I also played with Sara Ellis' newest items Lucyboo Papers and Flair and her Template Tools - Lucy
These were fun to work with and required a little bit of thinking on my part on how I could use them differently than the normal flair.  I think I figured out a couple good ways! I hope you enjoy them, and Thanks for Looking!

Down and Out

Ugh!  I ended up with strep throat this week and it knocked me out for 4 days!  I finally got to do a little scrapping last night.  I did a layout of our oldest showing off her newly acquired drivers license.  She hasn't even asked to use the car yet!?  Anyway, I am happy to be able to scrap again sleeping away the day never feels right.

I will leave you with my layout using Sara Ellis' kit Bugsy Buggers

Last night Libby was sick and up a lot so I was able to get a new look on my blog (not that anyone saw the old one) but I am starting to figure it out, and it is kinda fun.  I need to do something more on the sides, but right now the stripes are busy enough, next time I will go with a solid or mostly solid.  I also got another layout done.  This one I used a picture of a grizzly bear I took at Bear Country USA outside of Rapid City, SD over the summer. I use Sarah Meyer's kit Treasured Memories and her It's Puzzling Frames and Clipping Masks.  TFL

More layouts

I must say this whole CT thing is going to be great!  I have been so excited and this really keeps me trying to make each layout better than the last ones.  I worked with a kit by Sara Ellis for these layouts called "Owl Adore You" it is a fabulous kit full of fun fall colors.  The kit is great for fun pages like the one with Libby (I also used Sara's Template Tools - Betty and her coordinating mini kit Owl Love You in the first layout..)  It is also great for layouts that are a little more subtle like the one about my daughter's boyfriend.

WooHoo

I actually got picked to be on Gotta Pixel"s Creative Team!  I am so stoked.  I never expected it but I am looking forward to my term.  This month I get to work with products from two fantastic designers.  The first items I have played with are Treasured Memories, It's Puzzling Frames and Clipping Masks, and Clip it Masks Set 1, all from Sarah Meyer. You can find all these items and much more at her Gotta Pixel store.  Here are two heritage layouts I made today.   The first one is "Helen Weds" and features my grandmother on her wedding day.  The second features my great grandparents on their wedding day, their 50th anniversary, and sometime in between.  Thanks for looking!

Welcome!

Hello!  I am just starting this blog as a source to place all my digital scrapbooking finds and other stuff! I also get to display some of my layouts and you will find that some are Scrappy DON'Ts!!!

If you have ever heard of Artisan Notebook (digital scrapbook magazine) This month I was part of a fantastic opportunity to be coached through the overhaul of one of my first layouts!  It was great fun and I love the final product!! I also learned so much!  I felt very honored to be a part of it and see the article with my before and after layouts!

Here is my final after layout for the before and after workshop!
