ADSR

That stands for Amazing Digi Scrap Race. This is all new for me but I am doing it!  I teamed up with Wendy from my gotta pixel CT and we are all in!  I am very excited to extend my abilities and I know that challenges like this one is the best way to do that!  I will post my layouts here and Wendy's too if she will allow!  If you want to join in the fun find a partner and you both need to register here at the NDSB site.  Registration for ADSR is set to start on the 15th of January.  NDSB is working it way back so be patient, and in the mean time go shopping for products!

Phew!!

Well after all that work I got my entire calendar done and I am happy with it.  I ended up printing it at Office Depot and it worked out great and it was less than $20!  If I had been more organized it would have been cheaper but I missed the sale! Next year!  And speaking of next year I decided to make a challenge at Gotta Pixel to make the 2011 calendar one month at a time!  If you are interested stop over and join me!

Speaking of Gotta Pixel I finished my CT layouts for them!  I cut a bit close but here is my last layout using Rarf by simply.scraps.  This is our youngest with our then puppy Milo.  I love how this turned out!

More Calendar months done!!

WooHoo!!  I am more than halfway done with my calendar now and it feels great.  I have 3 more that I can show today.

I used a kit from Colie's Corner Made with Love for my January spread. The kit is available at Gotta Pixel.

I did these two using simply.scraps mini kit Punky Cutester along with paper and other elements from So...Basically, Metallic Alpha, Blingy Buds, and Keeping Tabs all also from simply.scraps.  All of these can be found at Gotta Pixel.

I hope that my parents like their calendar as much I do!!

is it 2010 yet?

It seems like it!  I am working on my 2010 calendar and phew I am getting there. I only have seven more months to do for my calendar.  I am really happy with it so far so it is totally worth the work, but I really need to get moving on it earlier next week.  It is so easy to forget how quickly time gets away from you in Nov and Dec and wham!  The thing should already be done by now!!  Anyway....lol I will show off a few of  my calendar pages.

I have done 2 spreads recently using kits from Julie Marie Designs.

December's spread has pictures from this year while the girls were decorating the Christmas tree.  The kit used is Holly Eve by Julie Marie Designs and it is available at her stores at Gotta Pixel and Elemental Scraps.

The October spread uses Julie Marie's kit Almost Christmas.  This kit is also available at both Gotta Pixel and Elemental Scraps.

SNOW, Snow, snow....

That is what we are supposed to have weather wise for the next 2 days -- with blizzard-like conditions?  I really don't like this kind of weather when we get it.  It is the price we pay for living in the midwest though.  I am getting stuff done! woohoo!  I managed to do a couple more months of my calendar, a recipe card and a full layout of our dog.

This is a recipe card that will be given as a part of a small gift for teachers, lemon bars are a favorite of mine and so I decided to share my recipe.  I used the kit Made With Love by Colie's Corner for this and the kit is available at Gotta Pixel Here.

For this layout featuring our dog Milo I used Rarf by simply.scraps.  This is a cute kit also available at Gotta Pixel Here.

Crazy Busy Season

Well the hectic time of the year is completely upon me!  I have shopping, wrapping, scrapping, cleaning, baking, and who knows what else!

Top on my list though is finishing my 2010 calendar I am making for the grandparents.  I posted July in Oct. and here is November  I really like how it turned out and I hope they do too. I used a kit by Captivated Visions called An Apple a Day and it can be found in her stores at Gotta Pixel and Elemental Scraps.

Julie Marie Designs

I am not sure if I shared earlier in the month that I was able to join an awesome CT for Julie Marie Designs.  I was able to finally get some pages done to show off her great kits and thought I would share them with you.

 Kit - Giving Thanks

Kit: Andrew
Kit: Daydreamer
All of these kits are available at Elemental Scraps and Gotta Pixel

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, Thanksgiving is almost over and we had a great family day.  Enjoyed "breakfast" for dinner and went to the pool for some relaxation.  I finally am getting down to updating here and getting some scrapping done!

I was able to scrap this year's pictures of the girls in their Halloween costumes. I used Kristmess' Eeeek! kit again and I must say it is such a fun kit!!

I also picked out another kit from Bella Gypsy and did a couple of layouts.  This first one shows our oldest and I tell you she is growing into such a beautiful young woman.  I am ultra proud of her.

Now this second layout I did I scrap-lifted from a  friend (gette3) I fell in love with her layout and had to do one of my own. Imitation is the finest form of flattery according to Anne Shirley.  The photo are of our middle daughter and she was really struttin' around with some 'tude!

the kits used in these layouts are available at Gotta Pixel.  Eeeek! by Kristmess and Wallflower by Bella Gypsy.

I love this!

Every month Gotta Pixel has an event called Gotta Grab It.  The designers team up and create products using the same swatch and OMG Nov swatch is FANTASTIC!!  I love love love the colors!  The papers, embellishments and templates are all to die for!  If you get a chance please run over and take it peek!  The best part of it all is that each product is only $1 dollar during the 4 day event!  Here are some samples!  Run HERE to purchase some of this great stuff!

Ahh back to work

As in for money.  I had to work again this week now that I am "healthy"   I haven't gotten much done in the scrapping world lately so only have one layout to share.  This is one using Christmess' awesome kit Eeeek! and I can't wait to use it again!  I  have a few years worth of Halloweens to scrap.  This LO is of Victoria when she was about 4 She was so cute and serious for her age so the journaling is precious to me.  The lady at that door sure got a good laugh too.

I am not a very good blogger

I am going to have to set a goal of updating this blog better.  I forget about it unless I have awesome layouts to post (like tonight.)  This week of course I don't feel to guilty because I have felt terrible this week.  I am pretty sure it was the flu.  I am feeling better though not great but much better!  I can talk louder than a whisper even :-)
Anyway, this month at Gotta Pixel there is a birthday bash happening.  GP turns 4 this month, and to top that off the 7th is Digital Scrapbook Day - that means 50% off in the GP store and lots of fun and games around the digi world.   To start off the birthday month I got some of my CT layouts done and I am really happy with them!

I am working with products from Kristmess and Bella Gypsy this month and I love the kits!

Life Blooms by Kristmess is a fun and cheery kits that I was able to use successfully for some girly pages for the girls.  As I said a couple of months ago pink and I have issues, but this is a kit that really got my girly girl creative juice flowing -- surprise surprise!

Emily is a perfect subject for my girly pages as she is a girly girl!  She loves pink and purple and playing pretty even if she loves to get dirty too! This picture is from this summer and I love it, the color in the kit worked really well with the photo too!  The layout use a photo from a couple of weeks ago of the girls playing at the park.  They all climbed  up on a half wall of the play equipment and the way they are standing in the picture reminds me of the cover of a Superfriends comic book so that is where the title of Supergirls came from.

Working with Bella Gypsy's kit Better Left Unsaid was great.  I LOVE earthtone colors so the kit jumped right out to me.  I use a couple of picture of Emily and Libby playing in the leaves from last weekend and I fell in love with the results.

This layout was done also using a template from Bella Gypsy found in their October Templatepalooza.  The second layout I did using the directions from a speedscrap that I am co-hosting in the wee hours (1 am) of the 7th.   I totally love this layout of the girls who really are 2 of a kind.

2 days to get stuff done!

I have the next two days off and I am hoping to get some more of my current projects done!  I am fortunate enough to have followed the directions for Connie Prince's Speed scrap last night and got a great layout for my CT gallery at Gotta Pixel.  I then did a page for the calendar I am doing for my parents for Christmas!  I did all the grids and numbers and days of the weeks to make a perpetual calendar grid template.  When I figure out how to do a decent preview I will show it - hoping in the next couple of days.

Speaking of Speed Scraps come and join us for the next one next week Friday at 8pm EST at Gotta Pixel.

Here are my layouts using Count Your Blessings by Julie Marie and Connie Prince

Happy Thursday!

I must work for real today so I am not getting much scrapping done, although I am actually "designing."  I don't know if I would really call it that, rather MAKING a calender set to use for my holiday gifts this year and for each year after.  I went shopping around several sites and could find what I was looking for so I am trying to do it myself.  I will post it when it is all done as I will be quite proud of it if it turns out the way I am envisioning it.  If that turns out I will be doing a couple spins on the idea -  I admit I am addicted to calendars.

Over that last few days I did some layouts for Armina Designs.  I was lucky enough to work with her October grab bag which is filled with the most adorable costumed children (20 of them!) and wonderful papers.  The kit also has a bragbook and some quick pages too.  Here are layouts using Sweet Treats! Found at Gotta Pixel!

I also got to play with Armina's new kit Oh, Baby!  I have to admit I love these two layouts.  I love the photos and the way the finished layouts turned out!

I am working with another kit by Isabel Mendez called Once Upon a Dream available at Gotta Pixel.  I have really enjoyed this kit am surprised at how easy it was for me to work with the kit since it is quite pick.  I am not a fan of pink.

On a second note it is $1 Tuesday at GP so stop on by and find a bunch of fantastic buys!

Busy weekend

We had a busy weekend.  Yesterday we had the usual karate morning that lasted until almost noon.  Then home to do some housework.  Today I took the girls to the park for a photo op and took almost 300 pictures -most will be deleted- then late this afternoon I took our youngest to the karate school swim party.  She had a blast and I took a bunch more pictures.  Finally new photos to play with!

Tonight I played around with a layout using Julie Marie's photo masks 1 set and Fall on the Farm papers and just a couple of elements.  I love the results of the blending modes.  The picture is Libby while out collecting garnets in NV and I love the effect of the tree branches between the camera and her in the photo.  I decided to add more trees and keep with the green "white space"  Julie's kit and masks of course can be found in her store at Gotta Pixel

.This is another layout using Julie Marie's Photo Masks 1.  This is Tori from the photo shoot today.  I loved the brick wall and had to use it as a background.  The string and flowers (recolored) are from Julie Marie's Fall on the Farm as well.

Been awhile!

I have been off getting stuff done offline.  All the kids are finally healthy and now it is DH that is feeling sick.  Eventually all will be healthy at once.  I finally got time to do some scrapping and here are are the layouts I got done!

This month I am working with Julie Marie Designs and Isabel Mendez.  Both designers have fantastic kits available!

These two are using Julie Marie's Fall on the Farm available at Gotta Pixel here

These two are using Isabel Mendez's A is for Autumn found at Gotta Pixel here

I also used Alphas in 3 of these layout by My Own Fonts by Karen (Rusty Wire, Autumn Blog Train, and Hang it Up) who has fantastic alphas and word art available in her store Gotta Pixel.

Germs!

We have had our fair share of them already this year.  I was out for the count most of last week with strep and the girls have all had some sort of virus over the past 2 weeks.  Em is home again with a fever, she came home yesterday with a temp over 104, and it just hanging on now around 101-102.    I am waiting until this weekend to see if my designers for the month bring forth any new products, if they do I will snap them up and share their talent!  Regardless I will have a few final layouts showing off Sarah's and Sara's talent next week so be sure to come back and peek at them.

In the meantime, I haven't gotten a lot of scrapping done the last couple of days, I did one layout yesterday for a Artisan Notebook challenge (Just Write) I have a goal to work on my journal writing for my layouts.  I have decided to take an Intro to Typography class that is being offered through the Digital Scrapbook Artisan Guild (Stacey Jewell Stahl is teaching it.)  It is not until January but I am all set to register.  The use of text can be really powerful on a layout and I have been won over by the artistry of text and want to use it myself to it's fullest potential.  In the meantime I will keep plugging away and hope I get it right at least part of the time.

I am also trying to finish my kit organizing.  I finally backed up all my zip files for kits and other scrapbooking items but I can't bring myself to delete them off of my main EHD ( I need to do it it is A LOT of space that is being taken up)  I WILL do it -- soon. LOL I will leave you with my layout from last night.  Have a good one.

Waiting

While I sit here waiting for the phone to ring with return phone calls and watch my email for responses I am scrapping a little.  I decided to use Sarah Meyer's Calico Cutie this time, the colors were easier for me to work with and I like the way these turned out. TFL.

Lazy Sunday

Today was a lazy day here.  There was a friend of the girls over for the day and that kept them occupied for the most part - even if it was on the computer.  But since I didn't get to play on the computer myself for most of the day I decided to read a book.  It was smut but FUNNY!!!  Anyway, after supper I got to do a couple of layouts so I will post those on my way to bed.  I have work for a few days so I may not post until after that.

These layouts were made using Sarah Meyer's She's A Star kit.  Honestly, for having 3 daughters I really have a hard time doing "girly" layouts.  But, this kit has browns and blues in it which made it much easier for me to work with.  Thanks for looking!

Happy Saturday!

After going to Olive Garden for a birthday lunch I got to come home and play!  I did another layout using Sara Ellis' Bugsy Buggers which I love! This is our youngest playing on the monkey bars at the park.

I also played with Sara Ellis' newest items Lucyboo Papers and Flair and her Template Tools - Lucy
These were fun to work with and required a little bit of thinking on my part on how I could use them differently than the normal flair.  I think I figured out a couple good ways! I hope you enjoy them, and Thanks for Looking!
